Infant Emotion Perception Study

EEG infant

We are looking for 8 – 10 month old infants for a study on emotion perception. Our study’s goal is to learn the brain’s response to different facial expressions. We hope our findings will increase our knowledge of the development of emotion perception.

Participation will involve a short visit (1 – 1.5 hrs) to the Perception-Action Lab at the UBC hospital. A soft EEG sensor net will be placed on your infant’s head. This will record brain activity while your infant watches short videos on a monitor of actors performing different facial expressions. EEG does NOT expose your infant to emissions of any kind, and it is completely harmless. At the end of the study you will be asked to answer a short questionnaire.

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE $20 TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT, AND YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE A COOL TOY!

If you are interested in participating, please contact Naama Rotem-Kohavi: nrk@alumni.ubc.ca
